Chris Eugene Lillegard

Chris Eugene Lillegard, 73, passed away on December 22, 2019 after a six month illness. He was born June 15, 1946, in Des Moines to Dwight and Ollie Lillegard.

Chris graduated from Saydel High School in 1964 and shortly after he joined the United States Navy. Chris was a U.S. Navy Seabee for four years and is a Vietnam Veteran. He raised and showed American Quarter Horses for over 50 years and owned Lillegard Quarter Horses with his wife, Joanne. He also enjoyed fishing and watching his grandsons wrestle. Chris retired from Townsend Engineering as a machinist after 40 years.

Chris is survived by his loving wife, Joanne, of 51 years; son, Anthony Shane (Amy) Lillegard; grandson’s, Colby and Tyson Lillegard.

Chris is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Lisa Ann Lillegard who passed away September 8, 2016.
