Josephine Moorman, age 76, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019.

Josie was born September 8, 1943 in Crete, Nebraska to Ernest and Opal (Davis) Pearson. She was raised in Winterset, Iowa and had been a resident of the Des Moines area for over thirty years. Josie was primarily a homemaker, but also did whatever it took for her family. She was an extremely hard worker, working many jobs to provide for her family, but always with a smile on her face and never a complaint. Her family was her first priority and she cherished every moment spent with them. At 4’11” tall, she was small but mighty! She was funny and feisty and with her mischievous nature, she was always keeping people on their toes. She enjoyed listening to live music, especially country music. She was an avid pet lover, adopting many animals in need. She also loved gardening and spending time outdoors. Josie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter Kymberly (Jeff) Loomis of Des Moines, daughter Misty Money (Jack Wright) of Indianola, son Michael Davis of Des Moines, grandchildren Nicole (Nathan) Tyler, Carly Hart and Scott Loomis, and her great-grandchild Nollie Tyler. She is also survived by her sister Mary-Jane Ruchnovsky, brother Butch Pearson, and her companion of many years Larry Clark.

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Moorman, sister Maxine Hamell, brother Joe Pearson, and her parents Ernest and Opal Pearson.

There will be a celebration of her life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family.
