Michael M. Steinbach
December 21, 2019
Michael M. Steinbach, age 61, passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019. He was born March 7, 1958 to Frank and Marilyn Steinbach in Des Moines, Iowa
Michael worked for Hy-Vee in Ankeny for 29 years. He then later worked for the Polk County Public Works department for 13 years before retiring. Michael loved to hang out with his friends, throwing back a cold one, and cheering for his beloved Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, or the Greenbay Packers. Michael was known for being the best mushroom hunter around. And every Tuesday night you could find him at his dad’s house watching NCIS or catching a game that was on TV. When he wasn’t cheering on his favorite sports team or hanging out with friends, you could find Michael playing a good game of cribbage.
Michael is survived by his children, Christina Steinbach and Jeremy Steinbach; grandchildren, Madilynn and Liam; father, Frank Steinbach, Jr.; brothers, Robert (Kathy) Steinbach and Frank (Lisa) Steinbach III; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marilyn and brother, Randy.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will receive visitors Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., also at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the family for Madilynn’s college fund.
