Bryon Kyle Hendricks
December 11, 2019
Bryon Kyle Hendricks, age 52, of West Des Moines, was taken away much too soon from a tragic car accident on Wednesday, December 11, 2019. Bryon was born September 15th, 1967 in Des Moines, Iowa.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Lori; daughters, Maya and Makaila Hendricks; brother, Brad (Denise) Hendricks; sister, Betty (Mike) McClellan; and many relatives and friends. Bryon was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jean Hendricks.
If you knew Bryon you knew how much he loved his family. Bryon was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He was a proud family man that would do anything for his wife and daughters. Bryon had many interests and hobbies but there was nothing he enjoyed more than his time at the lake with family and friends. Bryon enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time with those he loved most. That was the thing about Bryon, he made everyone he met feel like part of his family.
Bryon worked many years in the construction industry, from working in sales to owning his own business. His dedication, work ethic, and kindness impacted everyone he crossed paths with. He truly loved helping people not only in his personal life but also his professional life.
Bryon will be remembered for his selfless willingness to help others, his quick wit, work ethic and his ability to enjoy each and every moment that was given to him in life without taking it too seriously.
Although Bryon wasn’t here for a long time he was always here for a good time. Just before Bryon passed he made it known that when his time were to come he didn’t want sadness he wanted a celebration for a life well lived.
He was never one for sentiment, but he wants you to know that if he owes you a beer and you can find him in heaven, he will gladly allow you to buy him another.
Visitation will be 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 22, 2019, at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 23, 2019, also at the funeral home.

All I did was sell him a car. Said as few as maybe 100 words total to him. That alone was enough proof of the brilliance of Bryon. He was kind, respectful, and I was glad to have met him for just the moment that I did. Hearing that he had passed just weeks after meeting him, my heart dropped. It's easy to just move on from seeing people on the street, but that moment I heard the news I remembered that sometimes at the most unexpected time, before Christmas no less, our loved ones can be taken away. I don't know if you are a religious family, but mine is, and we are definitely praying for you. Romans 12:15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

Lori, Maya and Makaila,
I met Bryon 2 1/2 years ago at Jack Trice Stadium - I had several problems I could not solve - Before getting into solutions we became friends within minutes of meeting - Bryon was just that guy.
Bryon solved the problems beyond ISU's expectations and his work lives on as his solutions are still implemented to this day at the stadium.
Bryon had more expertise in his field than anyone I've ever met - Always solved the problem.
Beyond that Bryon was, and is, a friend I will always reflect on.
