Carol J. Hill

Carol Jean Hill, 61, was born March 17, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa to Harry and Donna (Swallow) Hill. She died Thursday, December 12, 2019 at Regency Care Center in Norwalk, Iowa.

Carol is survived by her ten siblings: Pam Hill of Alaska, Sandi Losee of Iowa, Carla Trewett of Montana, Becky Johnson of Iowa, Chad Hill of Alaska, Joe Hill of Iowa, Robin Frohock of Iowa, Brian Hill of Florida, Kristin Kelly of Missouri and Matt Hill of Colorado. Carol was surrounded by the love of numerous nieces and nephews.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Dutch and Donna Hill and her nephew Andrew Runyan.

Carol graduated from Dowling High School and went on to get her Bachelor of Science in Food Service Management from Iowa State University. She worked as a registered dietician at Fountain West Care Center for 38 years. She had a great love for people in the last stage of their life. She knew they needed love and comfort in their final days, and that is what she gave them.

Carol enjoyed traveling with family and friends. Some of her favorite journeys included Israel, Ireland, Canada, Puerto Rico, Vermont, Colorado, Hawaii and various other states. Carol loved everything Star Trek; she went to several conventions.

A remembrance mass will be held at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street, Des Moines on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 10:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to the Food Bank of Iowa or Dowling High School.
