Des Moines ~ Sandra “Sandie” D. Bolten, 77, of Des Moines, passed away at 08:50 a.m. Monday, December 09, 2019 at UnityPoint Hospice - Taylor House.

Born March 23, 1942 in Chicago to Alfonso and Hazel (Curry) Reyes, she married the love of her life, Joseph “Joe” Bolten, in February 1964 in Des Moines. Joe passed away November 14, 2007 in Des Moines. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are two sons, Mark M. (Kristine) Bolten of Indianola, Iowa and Johnny J. (Denise) Bolten of Eagan, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Megan Bolten and Morgan Bolten; two grandsons, Kasey Bolten and Noah Bolten; and one sibling, Ron (Dottie) Reyes of Tucson, Arizona.

Sandie worked at Brooks and Lussum Insurance in Des Moines before retiring.

An avid Motocross fan, Sandie enjoyed spending time with her family and cats, watching softball and movies, reading, and eating at Scornovacca’s.

There will be no visitation or funeral per Sandie’s wishes. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 14 at Jordan United Methodist Church (1950 SE 4th St, Des Moines, IA 50315) from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to UnityPoint Hospice - Taylor House (3401 E. Douglas Ave, Des Moines, IA 50317) or the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (5452 NE 22nd St, Des Moines, IA 50313).
