Service Details
Marilyn Johns, 75, died at her home Friday, March 20, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 to 8 p.m. with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Marilyn was born May 22, 1933 in Des Moines to Louis and Beatrice Hardenbrook. Together with her husband, she owned and operated CJ’s II Bar. Marilyn played on the City Pool League for many years and enjoyed going to Prairie Meadows.
Marilyn is survived by her husband of 59 years, Claude Johns; sons, Scott Johns and Michael (Agnes) Anderson; daughter, Jeri (Mark) Sokoloff; three grandchildren, Michelle (Dale) Eastman, Michele Anderson and Stacy (Bob) Kozol; and a great-grandson, Logan Eastman. She was preceded in death by her children, Ricky and Diane and sister, Lorraine Cosner.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Iowa Health Hospice.

She was a good woman who loved life and spoke your mind. She will be greatly missed by everyone. She will have always have a special place in our hearts.
