David Neil Dawson

David N. Dawson, 60, passed away December 4, 2019, at Mercy Hospice in Johnston surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on July 27, 1959, the son of Larry Dawson and Ann Pedersen.

David enjoyed bike riding, reading, and was a music lover. Above all else, David cherished his time spent with family and loved ones.

David will be greatly missed by his mother, Ann Pedersen; daughters, Jessica (Tyler) Leydens, Katie (Zach) Bertness, Stephanie (Jake) Bryan, and Sarah Dawson; seven granddaughters; brothers, Paul Dawson, Michael Pedersen, and Jon Pedersen; sister, Jeni Dawson-Vandersluis; as well as other loving family and countless friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Dawson; his brother, Mark Dawson; grandparents, King and Eileen Dawson; and his great-aunt, Sarah Dawson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Sunday afternoon from 2-4 p.m., also at the funeral home.
