Christine Ann Mease
November 30, 2019
Christine “Chris” Ann Mease, age 63, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019 at her home in Des Moines.
Chris was born April 24, 1956 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Theodore and Marilyn Lee. She attended Hubbell Elementary, Callanan Middle School, and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1974. Chris married Kevin Mease in June of 1977 at her parents’ home. She worked in various retail positions throughout her working years. She was a dog groomer in Valley Junction, West Des Moines. She had a love for animals and owned chickens, goats, horses, dogs, cats, an owl, a peacock, and cockatiels. She worked alongside her husband, Kevin at his business, M&M Electric. She also worked for two Carlisle, Iowa businesses – Sister’s and Fiss’, and as a luggage delivery person for the Des Moines International Airport. Chris always put other people before herself and loved caring for others. She enjoyed arts and crafts and always tried what the new popular craft was. Her family will fondly remember how she had “sticky fingers” when it came to small things like salt and pepper shakers. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her mother, Marilyn Louise (Povlick) Lee of Des Moines; sisters, Pamela Louise Lee of Des Moines and Amy Elizabeth Masolini (John William) of Des Moines; niece, Jade Elizabeth Masolini of Des Moines; niece, Malary Louise Lee (fiancé, Allen Clay Brown) of Texas; nephew, Hunter Charles Masolini; the love of her life, Rene Robinson of Des Moines; Rene’s family – 5 children, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; as well as other extended family and countless friends.
Chris was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Clinton Lee; maternal grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Povlick; paternal grandparents, Augusta and Nels Lee; and her husband, Kevin Mease.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Elim Christian Fellowship, 525 E 9th Street, Des Moines, IA 50309. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. A repass will follow the services.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League or to any no-kill animal shelter in loving memory of Chris.

I've know Chris for many years. I remember her and her husband coming into My Sister's Place, always ordered a combination pizza. I even had the pleasure of working with her at My Sister's place. She was always a hoot. If you were down she would always bring you up. Her smile brightened a room, I dont think I ever seen her without a smile. She will forever be missed. Fly high with the Angel's Chris.

Chris and Kevin were my neighbors for many years. When my daughter was young she had a pet rabbit, she decided it needed to be "free" so we went to Chris and gave her the rabbit. She did love her animals I remember her having 5 dogs at one time, maybe more! She was a great friend - I will never forget her. I loved her outlook on life! Always laughing and a positive caring nature. I will miss our visits. Heaven is lucky to have her!
