Betty Carter

Betty Carter, 92, was born February 28, 1927 in Clarksville, Iowa, the daughter of Del and Erma (Harre) Green. She passed away peacefully Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Iowa River Hospice in Marshalltown.

Betty was a long time member of Glen Echo Christian Church. She enjoyed her years working as a teacher’s aide at Karen Acres Elementary in Urbandale as well as being a saleswoman at Younkers. In later years, Betty worked in the Sears Credit Department, retiring from there in 1997. Betty treasured time spent with her family, especially her granddaughters.

Betty is survived by her children, Craig (Margo) Carter, Sue (Allen) Trampel and Chris (Jonathan) Hull; granddaughters, Cara Trampel (Kevin Sullivan), Lindsay Hull, Libby Carter and Lara Hull; great-granddaughter, Kylie; nieces, Sheri Wyles and Karen Nix; other loving relatives and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Russell and her sister, Nancy Wyles.

Cremation has occurred and private family burial will be held at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines.
