LaVonne was active in the community as a 4-H Leader and loved to deliver meals to homebound patients through the hospitals “Meals on Wheels” program. LaVonne also loved volunteering at the Catholic Fair stand during the county fair, and loved to work in the concession stands at Bishop Garrigan High School.

This love of arts and crafts led her to in to business as a partner in the store “Originals From the Heart” in Algona. She was a partner in the store from 1985-2018. She was also employed by Equifax, Sernets, and Millers Country Peddler.
LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, Dolliver and Roselind Zinke, her sister Pat Peterson (Robert “Buzz” Peterson), and her husband of more than 50 years, Charles McCabe Jr.

Sorry to all for your loss. LaVonne had a heart of gold, and I was lucky enough to meet Chuck and her, when I moved to Algona. She started me on my collection and love for Beanies. She will be missed, such a very special lady to many!

Lori, Patrick, Jon and families. I am so sad for all of you. Your Mom was such a beautiful lady. Growing up as neighbors and our parents as Bestfriends has left me with so many precious memories.
Every year at Christmas time your Mom would bring over a platter of her delicious candy and cookies! Her Chocolate covered Cherries were the best! I am sure your Dad was waiting at Heavens Doors for the love of his life. I love you LaVonne. I feel blessed to have known you??

Oh Jon. I am sorry to hear of your Mom's death. I always enjoyed her when she worked at Country Peddler and when I ran into her.
She had a good sense of humor (like you). God bless you and your family.
