Eva Jane Jones

Eva Jane Jones, 83, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, November 14, 2019 surrounded by her loving family under the care of Unity Point Hospice. She was born May 19, 1936 to Robert and Gladys (Phillips) Payne in Des Moines.

Eva Jane took great pride in raising her children and taking care of her family. Her grandchildren were the focus of her life and she treasured the memories she had with them. She always kept a clean home and enjoyed reading the newspaper from front to back, not missing a word.

Eva Jane is survived by her sons, Tom (Sandra) Jones and Rick Jones; grandchildren, Brenda (Mark) Jagerson and Clint (Jennifer) Jones; great-grandchildren, Lauren, Seth, Myles, Mayer, Zoey, Cooper, and Otto; great-great grandchildren, Tucker and Sawyer; sister, Lorus Fillman; and a host of other loving family and beloved friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Allan Jones; brothers, Eugene and Dwayne Payne; and sister, Arlene Lovell.

A burial of cremated remains will occur in the spring, near her birthday, at Berwick Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear of Eva Jane's passing, she was my mom's best friend. Grace Van Horn Bright, they were best friends until my mom past away. And I have seen her off and on and stop once in awhile to her. I am so sorry for your loss. She is such a wonderful lady. She will be missed. Hugs to you all.
