Service Details
Zelma Otto, 87, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Bright Kavanagh House. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009 at Rising Sun Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Zelma was born October 22, 1921 in Mitchell County, Iowa to John and Carrie Van Syoc. She moved to Des Moines in 1947. Zelma was an office worker as well as a homemaker.
Zelma is survived by her son, John (Lynne) Otto; brother, Eldon Van Syoc; and sister-in-law, Laverne Van Syoc. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Emerson Van Syoc; and her husband, Lester Otto.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bright Kavanagh House.
