Robert E. "Bob" Davis

Robert “Bob” Davis, 85, passed away at his home in Berwick on October 31, 2019. He was born in Des Moines on July 20, 1934, the son of Russell and Martha Davis.
Bob was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He owned and operated Bob’s Septic and Mobile Toilet Service until his retirement.
Bob was the self-proclaimed Mayor of Berwick. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Ambassador Unit with the Za-Ga-Zig Shrine in Altoona, and the Gig group.
Some of Bob’s favorite pastimes were listening to live music, attending social events held by the Filipino-American Association, meals at Prairie Meadows, breakfast with friends at HyVee, and watching the Ellen show. Bob also enjoyed spending time with his family, which included his dog Sammy and cat MieMie.
Bob is survived by his girlfriend, Carmen Pryor; daughter, Brenda (Mark) Safranski; sons, Ron (Tara) Davis and Randy Davis; several nieces and nephews, and a host of grandchildren, other loving family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russ and Martha; son, Ronnie E. Davis; and his brother, Russell Decker Davis.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines with burial to follow at Berwick Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 5-7 p.m., also at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Croix Hospice in loving memory of Bob.

I am so sorry to hear about his passing. My family has known Bob for years, he always went to listen to my brothers band. They used to meet at Dahls on east Euclid to have breakfast. Prayers for all the family

I met Bob when he drove for the freight service and came through Mount Ayr. I have many good memories including baking rolls in his stove which had an oven door that had to be held shut with a kitchen chair and helping him paint his rentals. He was truly "one of a kind" and will be remembered by many.
