Dr. Gary D. Nutt

Dr. Gary D. Nutt went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, October 30, 2019. Dr. Nutt was born September 28, 1957 to Dr. Walter and Dorothy Nutt in Des Moines.
He was a graduate of East High School, Grandview College, and Des Moines University. He had a private practice for 33 years in Podiatric Medicine. He was Staff Chief for Podiatric Service at Veterans Hospital in Des Moines. He served as Assistant Professor of Des Moines University, active in IPMS (Iowa Podiatric Medicine Society), President of the Antique Automotive Assoc. of America, and most dear to him was his involvement in the Gideons International Ministry.
Dr. Nutt is survived by his sister Nancy (Wayne) Fullerton of Morrisville, NC, Dr. Lynda Haver of Des Moines, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Walter Lee Nutt III, sister Anne Goscinski, and brother Darrell Nutt.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Gideons International.

My Mother that was 91 when seeing him and myself also at his practice . Where new Patients with him last year. We new right away this was going to be our Families foot Doctor. He was very good and a talented Doctor at his work and made people feel welcome with his heart pure as gold and a kind man. Knew with his 33 years in Podiatrist field. He was the Doctor for us. I just found out Today regarding his passing. I was shocked and so sad. Looked forward to seeing him for are foot care and his Jokes and visiting with him, Thoughts and prayers for the family. God bless Dr. Nutt. For he will be much missed by many. God Gained a other Angel that day.May he rest in Peace with his Lord and Savior, also walk the golden streets in heaven with him. Gary was a VERY Dear friend of mine, and we had a lot of fun e-mailing back and forth, discussing our old Fords. I always looked him up when I visited in Des Moines, and I will miss him Very Much. I know I will see him again. He was a Wonderful Testimony for the Lord, and had such a kind spirit. Prayers for the family and friends!!!

Gary will be missed, I enjoyed visiting with him, a man with such a kind heart, and look forward to seeing him again in heaven in the beauty of the presence of Savior Jesus. Praying for the family, that God's mighty love, peace and comfort will be felt as He strengthens loved ones.

So sorry to hear about Dr. Nutt's passing. I enjoyed my conversations with him just as much as I enjoyed being able to walk again after visiting him. I am so glad that I got to meet him. He was genuinely a nice guy. Prayers for his friends and his family!

So sorry for your loss, I met Dr. Nutt at the Veterans Hospital when I worked in clinic. He had a big heart and quite the comedian. Bless him.

Saddens our heart to hear of this loss. Dr Nutt was so genuine and kind, I was just there at the office in June, he spoke with my husband about working on his antique car.
