Mildred A. Oxenreider, 96, passed away October 30, 2019 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston.
Mildred was born July 24, 1923 in Colfax, Iowa to William and Annie Hunter. She attended school in Chariton, Iowa. Mildred worked in the Deli at the Fleur HyVee for many years. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and embroidering. Mildred loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by her son, Maynard (Sheryl) Oxenreider; daughters, Patricia Saunders, Sandra (Roger) Farris and Debbie (John) Marmon; sister, Beverly Niswender; sister-in-law, Martha Hunter; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, William Bell; husband, Roy; son, Roy Earl, Jr. (Maryls) Oxenreider; daughter, Beverly (John) Hagedorn; brothers, William “Bill” Hunter and Stanley (Betty) Hunter; sister, Doris Hunter; and her brother-in-law, Bob Niswender.
The family will greet friends Wednesday, November 6, 2019 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mildred will be laid to rest at the Norwalk Cemetery.
