Virgil Webb

Virgil Charles Webb, 85, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm, Saturday, March 21, 2009 at the Bondurant Christian Church in Bondurant with burial to follow at Berwick Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Friday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Virgil was born July 31, 1923 in Des Moines and was the youngest of 3 boys. At the age of 4 Virgil moved near Bondurant where he spent his life farming. Virgil loved to sing. For many years he sang in the church choir and with a quartet for funerals. Before retirement, Virgil was a mail carrier for 10 years.
Virgil is survived by his nieces, Sandra Gunlock of Kansas, Wanda Baker of Alaska and Cindy De Freece of Missouri and his nephews, William Webb of Washington and Roger “Butch” Webb of Kansas. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Horace and Roger and an infant sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bondurant Christian Church in loving memory of Virgil.
