Lillian Ledlie

Lillian Ledlie passed away on October 27, 2019 in Des Moines, Iowa. She was born on July 20, 1921 in Des Moines, Iowa, the youngest of four children born to Henning and Beda Hammer. She grew up in Des Moines and graduated from Lincoln High School. After World War II, Lillian and Lyle Ledlie were married on November 23, 1945.
She was an organist and played for many churches, weddings, and funerals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle; parents; and brothers, Harold, Arnold, and Robert who was serving in WWII and disappeared in the line of duty in the Aleutian Islands.
Lillian is survived by two daughters, Victoria Collins and Ruth Hartzer; nephews, Robert (Diane) Hammer and James (Jan) Stillman; and many other loving nieces and nephews.
There will be a Graveside Service on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Scotch Ridge Cemetery in Carlisle, Iowa.
Memorials may be made to Valley View Village, in appreciation of their loving care of Lillian for 37 years.

I worked at Valley View Village for almost 35 years. I got to know Lillian and her husband Lyle. They were both beautiful people. My condolences go to Lillians family.
