I didn't know Nora well. She was the SHIIP volunteer who helped me with our Medicare selections the past three years. But she made an impact on me with her caring and her apparent zest for life. To all her family: please accept my condolences. I can imagine that her death is a great loss. I feel thankful for the time I got to spend with her. Sometimes you have the sense you are meeting someone who is remarkable, and I felt that way about Nora.

I knew Nora from art lessons with Mary Muller. I always enjoyed Noras company and wonderful sense of humor, like a ray of sunshine. I also appreciated that she was, like me, a very slow (we preferred terms like deliberate and methodical) painter. I think I bested her in deliberateness however, when, frustrated with my usual glacial rate of progress, I opined that the only way I could go any slower on one particular work was if I started taking paint off the canvas instead of putting it on! Nora was also the only person ever to help me finish up a painting faster by signing it for mewith her signature, of course. I was very flattered that she liked the painting that much. I treasured our friendship and will miss her dearly. She was a delightful soul, gone too soon. Our deepest condolences to the entire Nurre family on your sudden and tragic loss. Sincerely, Gary Huffman

Nora, helped train and mentor me in the SHIIP program. She was a tireless servant to those in need and clearly made the most of each day. I attend church with Jill Reinke and we shared our mutual love and respect for Nora. She will be missed on many levels.

My deepest sympathy to Nora's family and friends. I met Nora when we were both working for Allied. When I moved 2 hours away she sent me a key to her house so I would always have a place to stay when I would travel back to DSM. My memories will always be of her beautiful smile and infectious laugh. My husband and I looked forward to reading her Christmas letter every year, imagining her wonderful laugh as we read it. A life well lived definitely describes Nora. You will be missed, my friend.

When my husband died, I came across a Hebrew proverb that helped me tremendously. I share it with you now. Say not in sorrow, she is no more, but live in thankfulness that she was. Nora made a difference in this world, and will always be remembered for that. I miss her. She certainly has left a hole in the SHIIP community. We were so fortunate to know her and work with her these past years. Deepest condolences to her family and friends. Fellow SHIIP. Counselor, Judy Brannon

So sorry for your and our loss. Nora would understand that I can not make it to the funeral because I am seeing SHIIP clients that morning.
