Raymond Keith Lear

On Sunday, October 20, 2019, Raymond Keith Lear, passed away after a long fought battle with COPD. He had celebrated his 87th birthday only a few days prior. Keith was born to John Lear and Madge (Phipps) Lear on October 11, 1932 in Decatur, IA. He served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Keith was employed as a heating engineer at the Des Moines V.A. Hospital campus, until his retirement. Keith was an active Scoutmaster with local Troop 43, where he saw Andrew to Eagle Scout and Jason to Life Scout, along with many other young men. He will be missed by his two sons, Andrew Ray Lear, wife Wendi, and their son Zachary Ryan Lear of Des Moines; and Jason Paul Lear of Urbandale, and his daughters, Harmony Louise Lear and Arianna Grace Lear; a sister, Dorothy Koger; as well as countless nieces, nephews, and cousins. Keith was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Louise, and 7 sisters and brothers.
The family will greet friends from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Hamilton's Funeral Home on Lyon St. in Des Moines, with funeral services will follow at 4:00 PM. Interment will be held at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the American Lung Association, the Animal Rescue League, or a charity of the donors’ choice.

I have such fond memories of Keith & Louise & their coming to visit us in Ackley.
They always had to check out our raspberry bed & have some fresh berries :-).
Keith & Louise are together again. Rest in peace. I will miss you both.
