Stephen Curtis

Stephen “Steve” Curtis, 48, passed away October 14, 2019 at Pearl Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gowrie, Iowa.

Steve was born July 11, 1971 in Des Moines. He worked for Brockway Mechanical. Steve was an avid racing fan and an accomplished stock car driver. He enjoyed watching his son play football. Steve also enjoyed watching UFC fights with his boys.

Steve is survived by his mother, Sue (Robert) Bender; daughter, Kerry Roberts; sons, Joseph and Logan Curtis; half-sister, Christina; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Curtis; sister, Shannon Curtis; grandparents, Virgil and June Wells and Howard and Edith Curtis.

Funeral service will be held Monday, October 28, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held Monday 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Steve’s memory. Contributions may be made at the funeral home.
