Gwen Marie Johnson, age 64, passed away at her home on Monday, October 14, 2019. Gwen was born the daughter of Mose and Geraldine Johnson on February 4, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a faithful member of Christ Apostolic Temple and worked for OSCAS. After her retirement, she continued to volunteer for them, hand-stitching quilts for the women seeking services there.
Gwen is survived by her loving children, Michael Johnson, Shondess (Meoka) Johnson, TaTaneasha (Alonzo) Hickman, Telize Johnson, and William (Felicia) Chumley; grandchildren, Machelle King, Montinae Johnson, Natasha Johnson, Kymani Tracey, Shondalae Johnson, Shondess Johnson, Jr., Marshay King, Shawntanay Johnson, Darquan Jones, Damarion Jones, Ajanae Johnson, and Taytiana Johnson; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Sa’maria, and Shawn; sister, Ann Love; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Gwen was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Michael and LaMonte Johnson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 25, 2019 at Christ Apostolic Temple, 1230 E 17th Street, Des Moines, followed by interment at Glendale Cemetery.

We all resided in Oakridge Apt. back in the day, I didn't know you well, but your Son's was good friends of mine( Mike and Shondess) as I was telling Shondess I'm so happy you made it on home to be with the Lord.
