Mr. Pillers was my guidance counselor at Dexfield High and later returned and was the athletic director during the time my children were in school. He was a great person- kind and cheerful and hard working. Blessings to Mrs. Pillers as she works thru her loss.

Martin was a teacher at Minburn, and one day he had us draw names for a airplane ride with him. I was one of the three. We went up from Des Moines on a overcast day and he flew instruments. Never forgot that. Years later Martin and Jean lived on my mail route in West Des Moines and I introduced myself and caught up a little over different mail deliveries to their house. Wonderful man and wife. Deepest sympathy.

Jean, I was sorry to hear of the passing of Marty. He was a very good man. I had the pleasure of working with him at Redfield, where I was a teacher and coach. Marty was our Athletic Director and Guidance Counselor. He would do anything to help a student or staff member. Please know you are in my prayers. Our deepest sympathy, Randy & Marsha McCaulley

Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of Earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward Ive climbed, and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun-split clouds, and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovring there,
Ive chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air . . .
Up, up the long, delirious burning blue
Ive topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace
Where never lark, or ever eagle flew
And, while with silent, lifting mind Ive trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space,
Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
