Bruce Frederick Dawson was born to Chester and Margaret (Redd) Dawson on December 25, 1961. Merry Christmas Dawson Family. Bruce was raised and educated in Fort Madison, IA and graduated from Fort Madison High School on the honor roll.
Bruce worked for Sheaffer Pen until they closed and then Gleason Corporation in Fort Madison until his health started to decline. In 2007 his two younger sisters went to Fort Madison and told him to get packed he was moving to Des Moines where they could take care of him. He wasn’t sure he wanted to move but he knew who the bosses were.
Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family, hanging out with the guys talking trash, playing dominos listening to his favorite artist Prince and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Heat while drinking a cold Natural Ice. Bruce had a big heart and would help anyone in need especially the ladies.
Bruce was one of a kind and there will never be another like him. In his own words “Bad Boy until the casket drops.”
Bruce passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at his home in Des Moines at the age of 57.
Bruce is survived by his brother, Paul (Roberta) Marshall Jr, sisters, Yvonne (Mike) Harchalk and Sheryl (Gregory) Leverette Sr, his Uncle George and a very special Aunt Extine aka “Aunt Pee Wee” plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Diane; brothers, Mike Marshall Sr; Jeffrey Marshall; sisters, Elizabeth Waytes and Valerie Davis.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Burns United Methodist Church, 1909 Martin Luther King Jr. Pkwy, Des Moines.

It sadden my heart when I heard the news. I can remember cleaning your house once a week to earn extra money growing up. You'd be sippn your beers and listening to music having the best time just hanging with the fam! You will definitely be missed cuz! You are ONE OF A KIND.
