Mary Lou Mohr

Mary Lou Mohr, 95, passed away October 3, 2019, at Trinity Center at Luther Park. She was born in Des Moines on August 8, 1924, to James and Edith Manbeck.

Mary Lou met her first husband, Willard Mohr, in the 1940’s and they were united in marriage shortly after. In 1948, they were blessed with the birth of their son, Don. Later in life, she married Harold Degeus and they shared many happy years together until his passing.

Mary Lou was a longtime member of Grandview Park Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and volunteering. Mary Lou will be remembered as a loving mother and wife.

Mary Lou is survived by her son, Don (Ofelia) Mohr of Des Moines; granddaughter, Melissa of Des Moines, as well as many cousins and extended relatives. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Willard Mohr and Harold Degeus; her parents, James and Edith Manbeck, and other loving family.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NE 60th Avenue in Des Moines. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines.
