Daniel Ray Stanley was born June 3, 1956 in Des Moines, Iowa to Leroy and Ruth (Nicholson) Stanley. He passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the age of 63.
Daniel proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. He was a faithful employee of the United States Postal Service for 34 years. He loved hunting, fishing, and bowling. One of his favorite pastimes was going to the movies. Daniel was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed working in his yard with his tractor. He was a talented artist, especially painting, and liked doing crafts. He enjoyed passing the time playing poker and pool on his tablet. Above all else, Daniel loved spending time with his three children and seven grandchildren, telling stories of his childhood.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father Leroy, two nephews, and his brothers Greg, Jeff, and Steve.
Cremation will occur and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.

Dan was a child hood friend who was fun to be around. Halloween was always fun for Dan because he would make a visit
to my house with the craziest mask to scare my kis and they loved it. RIP my friend.

I supervised Dan at Beaverdale Station for about a year. Dan and I became friends and I liked his sense of humor. I know he will most certainly be missed by his children and grandchildren and I I know many friends that will miss him as well. So fly high my friend and Rest In Peace. God bless those closest that will have a huge void in their lives. Remember the great memories made with Dan.

My condolences to the Stanley family. I met Dan many years ago, when he was just out of the service. We were friends who drifted apart. I always thought of him, when driving past his house on Indianola Rd. His strong spirit will live on in all of you.
