Karen S. Mills

Karen Sue Mills, 62, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2019 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer that she fought so hard.

Karen was born August 11, 1957 in South Zanesville, OH to Grant and Grace Smith. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Lynn Mills; children, Marke (Corby) Mills, Sarah L. Mills, and Kevin (Stephanie) Mills; grandchildren, Caleb, Samantha, Joshua, John, Athena, and Hunter who she loved very dearly; siblings, Grant Smith, Darlene (Larry) Clarke, and Gracie Smith; sister-in-law, Virginia Armstrong; brother-in-law, David (Rilla) Mills; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Grace Smith; brothers, Larry Smith, Eddie Smith; niece, Kelly MacDonald; nephews, Dean MacDonald and Michael Mills; brother-in-law, Howard Mills; sister-in-law, Peggy Mills; and mother and father-in-law, Marie and Ivan Mills.

There will be a celebration of life on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made directly to the family in loving memory of Karen.
