Rita Bish, 70, passed away on October 2, 2019, at Granger Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Des Moines, Iowa on March 22, 1949, to Emil and Viola Mensing.
Rita worked at the Des Moines Public School District as a bus aide for disabled children. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings fan. Rita loved boating and being outdoors, but especially treasured her grandchildren and the time they spent together.
Rita is survived by her son, Rob Bish (fiancée, Melissa Hills); daughter, Hope Bish (Jerry Leach); grandchildren, Damon, Sky, Kayanna and DeKota; siblings, Larry, Craig and Emily; nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel; parents; and brother, Roland.
Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home two hours prior to service time.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Huntington's Disease Society of America in loving memory of Rita.

Last time that I saw you it was the time Aunt Gayle threw me a baby shower for me back in 88 and you made me blue, white, Pink blanket it had waves through the blanket. There few times that my dad brought me over to see you and Danny, family. Now you and Danny are both gone and flying with angles and you guys are not any more pain, I will always down deep in my heart love and miss you always your cousin TR Robinson.

I haven't seen you in a few years but totally remember when Danny brought you out here to California and we all went to the Ocean and you loved it so much! You will be missed Now you and Danny can be together again?

Thank you for being an awesome big sister! Thank you for teaching me to crochet and do needle point. Thank you for the many phone calls just to say hello and I love you. I know you are happy in the presence of God and the arms of Danny. Love you sweet lady!

For Rita & Danny's family and friends. My sincere condolences to you. Rita suffered through a long and horrible disease. Danny as well. They were a true love story and I was in awe of their dedication to each other. I knew them mostly when they were so young, smitten with each other, proud of their family and very happy; good friends to my sister Edie Jo and Jim.
