Mark Burton
October 01, 2019
Mark Burton, 54, passed away on October 1, 2019 at his home from congestive heart failure. He was born July 29, 1965 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ronald Burton and Carol Hale.
Mark moved to Le Mars, Iowa when he was 8 years old and graduated from Le Mars Community High School. After graduating from high school, he moved back to Des Moines. Mark worked for HyVee for 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and he was an avid collector. Like his dad, he was always looking for the next great one of a kind treasure. Oh AND how he loved to tell stories! You could expect to listen to him for some time because he didn’t leave out any details. He loved his music, ACDC was his favorite band. He occasionally would play his music really loud and sing into a microphone as if he were part of the group. Mark had a thing for skulls and had quite a collection. He even gave himself the nickname, “Skullman”. Mark was a big kid at heart and full of life! His most prized possession of all were his twins, Andrea and Zachary. He truly was a proud dad.
Mark is survived by his wife of 24 years, Becky; children, Andrea Burton and Zachary Burton; sisters, Denene Haafke of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Pam Last of Altoona; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronnie Burton Jr.
The family will greet friends Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 4 pm to 6 pm with the funeral service to follow at 6 pm at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in loving memory of Mark.
Condolences may be expressed at www.HamiltonsFuneralHome.com.

Mark was a great person to work with. I remember when him and Becky had the twins boy and a girl I made each one of the babies blanket.
I remembered Halloween time we were working together with my daughter Rhonda him and David did the toilet paper section David wanted us to come lcheck it out. And who is on the other side of the toilet paper Mark. So were there talking about it. Then Mark jumped out at us scared the shit out of us. He laughed so hard and fell on the floor.

Becky, Andrea & Zachary,
This is such a sad thing. I cant begin to tell you how sorry I am about the loss of your husband or father.
He was the baby of the first generation of cousins. We all loved him.
