Kristi Jean White
Of Des Moines, Iowa
Kristi White, age 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 surrounded by her family. She was born the daughter of Weldon and Barbara Gourd on March 8, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Kristi worked for the Department of Defense as an IT administrative assistant. She loved jewelry and enjoyed volunteering her time with many groups. Above all else, she cherished time spent with family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Monty White; sons, Kevin (Katie) White and Daniel White; grandsons, Daniel White, Jr., and Parker White; brother, Greg (Grimilda) Gourd; and sister, Allison (Jim) Welty.
Kristi was preceded in death by her parents; and many uncles and aunts.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 9th also at the funeral home followed by burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions may be directed to the Women’s Shelter in memory of Kristi.

Kristy was such a loving person. We always had a good laugh together and she will always hold a warm spot in my heart. We were East Siders and went to Amos Hiatt and worked together at the Meps. She was a shinning star. She will be missed. Gone too soon.

Kristy made everything sparkle. We didnt see her often... 4th of July was always special because there was a smile a hug and lots of laughs. We miss her already. God bless you all. There is a peace knowing she is no longer hurting.

All i can really say is i always have looked at her as my mom because she took me under her wing and was always their from a very early age no matter the situation shed always knew what to i was blessed to have had the chance to love somone with such a beautiful heart i love you mom and will always.

Monty....so very sorry to hear of your loss. Kristy was such a sweet person. And altho it has been many years since we've seen you, we've thought of you both often. You have our love, thoughts and prayers.
