He was fond of family travel and was fortunate to enjoy his last family trip to Yellowstone with his wife, children(spouses), and grandchildren this past summer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East High School Alumni Scholarship Fund or Planned Parenthood of the Heartland.

One of my fondest memories of brother in law Glenn. He and my sister Bev took a little kid (me) to Disney land (once upon a time). Im glad it didnt discourage him from having kids.

Dear Bev ,Kids and Grandkids. It is sooo hard to let you all know how much our cousins loved each other. But we did, from the time we were born Dad and aunt Bernice were sooo close so we grew up at each others house. Playing outside on Delaware. Mick was telling me that he loved coming to our house, because he always got a bottle of pop from uncle Lorens tavern. Our plan to come home next time will be saddened not having him to hug. Thank God we still have you, Bev. So here is sending you a big Ford hug. Wish we could have been there for you. Love you. Peace be with you soon. Your cousins Jeanne and Leo McGough

When Great Trees Fall.
Maya Angelou.
When great trees fall,
rocks on distant hills shudder,
lions hunker down
in tall grasses,
and even elephants
lumber after safety.
When great trees fall
in forests,
small things recoil into silence,
their senses
eroded beyond fear.
When great souls die,
the air around us becomes
light, rare, sterile.
We breathe, briefly.
Our eyes, briefly,
see with
a hurtful clarity.
Our memory, suddenly sharpened,
examines,
gnaws on kind words
unsaid,
promised walks
never taken.
Great souls die and
our reality, bound to
them, takes leave of us.
Our souls,
dependent upon their
nurture,
now shrink, wizened.
Our minds, formed
and informed by their
radiance,? fall away.
We are not so much maddened
as reduced to the unutterable ignorance? of
dark, cold
caves.
And when great souls die,
after a period peace blooms,
slowly and always
irregularly. Spaces fill
with a kind of
soothing electric vibration.
Our senses, restored, never
to be the same, whisper to us.
They existed. They existed.
We can be. Be and be
better. For they existed

Beverly, Jenny, Jeff, Emily and families -
We share in your grief and have you in our prayers. Uncle Mickey left me with so many fond memories as a child, teenager, and adult. I'm sure he and my mother, Ellen, will enjoy many political debates.
