Jimmie David Robbins, age 76, passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Kavanagh on 56th surrounded by family.
Jimmie was born April 25, 1943 in Des Moines, Iowa to Johnnie and Grace Robbins. He worked for the United Parcel Service and owned a car dealership. He was a former member of the Shriners. In 1964, he married Vicki Daniels and to that union three daughters were born – Kimberly Robbins, Kristine Robbins, and Elizabeth Helmers. In 1990, he married Denise and became the father of Justin and Joel Sheridan. Jimmie had a passion for cars and racing. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and watching football.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Robbins; daughters, Kimberly, Kristine, and Elizabeth (Justin); sons, Justin (Tracey) and Joel; nine grandchildren, James, Jeremy (Amy), Blaine (Sarah), Quentin, Kasjen, Alivia, Abagail, Jax, and Sabrey; one great-granddaughter, Milah; sisters, Jean Anderson, Connie Battles, and Sue Robbins; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his mother, Grace; father, Johnnie; and his brothers, Kenneth, Larry, and Rickey.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines. A memorial service will take place at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 21, 2019 at First Family Church, 317 SE Magazine Rd, Ankeny. Interment will follow at Norwalk Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear about Jims passing..........he trained me on my route when I started at ups in 1968 and I stayed for 32 years.........I havent seen him in years but have never forgotten what a great boss he was

My heart is heavy for all of those who loved Jimmie. What a great, caring guy he was. I will always feel indebted for the joy he gave to Norm.
