Carolyn Kay (Ort) Aeschliman Rice, 72, took God’s hand on September 17, 2019. She was born September 10, 1947 to Burney and Mary (Staley) Ort.
Carolyn retired from Mercy Campus Medical Clinic after many years as a Certified Medical Assistant.
She leaves her husband, Jim; children, Tressa Aeschliman Upton and T.J. “Tom, Jr.” Aeschliman; granddaughter, Camry Renee Upton; sisters, Dorothy Ort, Kathy (Darrell) Stark; best 4 legged friend, Kofu; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will host a remembrance celebration from 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at 4013 6th Ave., Des Moines, 50313.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Iowa.

Mom, it's been a long month since you grabbed Gods hand. I know you have found the best of life and there's no more pain and I bet you're warm. I miss you so much, I truly hope and believe how much I love you. You always gave the best of everything to anything that you could offer. I know that you're at peace and having a great time with Grandpa, Grandma, Don (Grandpa) and Rima (Grandma). I still feel your presence in my heart, tears, every breath I take. Not only were you my MOM but you were my best friend. I'm going to be selfish, I want you back!!!!!!!!! And I bet that the birds don't bother you anymore. (If you knew my Mom you'd find that funny too) I LOVE AND MISS YOU!!!!!! (HUGE HUG, GRIN, KISSES AND LOVE) I know that I had to put it in words because your flip phone didn't recognize emojis. LOL

Dorothy, Im so sorry to hear of your sisters death. Carolyn was in my sister Susan (Hastie)s class. I hope you and your family find peace in your memories of Carolyn.
