I miss you so much! I know you are at peace and selfishly this world sucks without you. You always wanted to go home and you made it. I will be home someday too. I'm homesick and miss all the beautiful souls like yours. I love you ! Tell Jesus hi for me ;)

Bailey was a student of mine at Drake University. I went looking for some of her writing and found a reflection she had written in an autobiography course. She mentioned that it was difficult for her to write about friends and family, because "no one is defined by one aspect of themselves. We are all complex and need this particular care and focus." I think that her approach to writing, as she described it back then, was much like her approach to life in general. She had a kind and generous heart, and an open-minded way of moving through the world--she gave everyone the "care and focus" they needed. I know she will be sorely missed. I wish the best to all who knew her.
