Arla “Kay” Burckle-Roberts, age 78, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019.
Kay was born September 8, 1941 in Webster City, Iowa to Ralph W. and Inez Ellen (Pringle) Burckle. In her younger years, she was a resident of Peoria, IL, Muscatine, IA and Davenport, IA, settling in Des Moines for the past 55 years. She graduated from AIB Business College. She married Don H. Roberts and worked alongside him as the bookkeeper for his business – Don’s East Grand Service. In her free time she enjoyed collecting keepsakes and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Don Roberts; son, Craig Roberts; daughter, Cris Larson (Curt); granddaughters, Bailey and Erin Larson; sisters, Diane Crystal and Carole Burgin; and many other extended family and friends.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Inez Burckle.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., with funeral service to begin at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
