Service Details
Steve Ray Anderson, 49, passed away Friday, March 13, 2009 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 1 pm Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Steve as born June 20, 1959 to Dorothy and Raymond Anderson in Des Moines. He married Helen Thornton on April 19, 1980. Steve worked at Meredith Burda as a book binder for 25 years. Steve was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs. He loved spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. One of his greatest joys was family vacations. Steve also enjoyed collecting coins, fishing and camping.
Steve is survived by his wife, Helen, his children, Jake (Katie), and Sara (Shane) Gee both of Des Moines; his sister, Linda (Bob) Sample of Altoona; his four grandchildren, Logan, Jaden, Saige and Nolan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.

EVERYONE IS HURTING OVER OUR LOSS OF STEVE,WE MUST KEEP IN MIND OUR LOSS IS HIS GAIN......
HIS FIGHT IS OVER.
MEMORIES WILL LAST OUR LIFE TIME.AND EVERYDAY THEY BECOME MORE PRECIOUS THAN THE DAY BEFORE.WE ALL HAVE THEM AND WE WILL DRAW ON THEM,IT HELPS MAKE ALONG NIGHT OR LONELY DAY BAREABLE.

I send my deepest sympathy to you Linda,Helen,and family. I have very fond memories of Steven as we were growing up. I KNOW that he is with Aunt Dorothy, Uncle Ray, Do Do (Aunt Delores), Uncle Allen and Grandma & Grandad Overton fishing and watching over ALL of us.

Time flies Steve! You lived a great life and provided a wonderful life for your children. Wish I could have had the chance to enjoy some of those family vacations with everyone. Now you are on a never ending vacation. I know you'll catch some of the BIGGEST fish ever where you are!
