Jacquelin Kail
August 24, 2019
Jacquelin J. Kail, 77, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2019. Jackie was born to Jack and Jewell Lane on October 5, 1941 in Des Moines, Iowa. She married Richard Kail on October 9, 1959 at Grace United Methodist Church, the same church she was baptized in. Her faith was very important to her! Jackie was employed as a store manager and a real estate agent with Iowa Realty for most of her career.
When not taking care of her family Jackie enjoyed sewing, reading, gardening, exercising and dancing. She was a member of the Police Auxiliary for 34 years. She especially loved to cook for her family and friends. Some of her most favorite things to do were traveling around the world with the love of her life, spending time with her dogs, and most importantly, spoiling her grandsons. Anyone that knew Jackie will remember her infectious laugh and her amazing strength.
Left to mourn her loss are her husband, Richard; son, Rick (Becky) San Diego, CA; daughter, Shelly (Tim)Tyler Des Moines, IA; grandsons, Jake, Des Moines, IA, and Zak (Kate), Ames, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents.
Richard and Jackie were reunited on September 12, 2019 when Richard passed away. Joint services will be held at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, the anniversary of the day they first met. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by the memorial service at 6:00 p.m.

I remember meeting Jackie several times. She was so very kind, and gracious. She even gave me advice on purchasing a home. Will always remember her great smile. The last time I met you both was at the West Des Moines Dog Park, where you had let loose your French Bulldog(s), it was fun to see you both again. Condolences to you and your Family.

Jackie was a wonderful woman. She and Richard had a special relationship and it showed when they crossed the dance floor. I loved watching them dance. She will be dearly missed. Our deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

What a great lady. I never saw Jackie without a smile on her face. She was always so kind and caring. A true joy to be around. I loved sharing my John Sanford and CJ Box books with her. She in turn shared some really good e-mails. We are thinking of you all at this very trying time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Dick and Shelly and the rest of your family.
