Helen Hartzer

Helen Elaine Hartzer, 68, died Friday, March 13, 2009 at Mercy Hospice Johnston. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. Visitation will be held from 12-8 p.m. with family present from 7-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. A private family burial of cremated remains will occur at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Helen was born July 11, 1940 to Arthur and Cora Stubbs in Grand River, Iowa. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge for over 30 years and the Southside Assembly of God Church.
Helen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jerry; sons, Steven Martin, Kenny (Diana) Hartzer, and Ed Hartzer; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Beeman, Barb Owen, Verda Foland, Leona Fischer, and Kathy Adams; brothers, Don, Bill, Terry, and Merlyn Stubbs; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Darrell and Gerald Stubbs.
