Linda J. Overton

Linda Jo Overton was born March 23, 1943 and passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at the age of 76. She will be deeply missed by her Mosaic family and friends at the SE 20th Street House. Linda is survived by her sister, Viola Crowder, of Hendersonville TN, and preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Overton Jr.

Linda was a feisty, strong-willed woman with a great fashion sense. She always let you know how she felt and she enjoyed honking when she was happy. She lived for 60 years at the Woodward State Hospital. Following her stay there, she came to Mosaic where she enjoyed the last 13 years of her life. She loved the Night to Shine Prom and getting dressed up. She enjoyed nature and was loved by many.

There will be a celebration of Linda’s life on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
