Bruce Edward Foxhoven, 55, of Des Moines passed away on Saturday, August 3rd, 2019. Bruce was born on January 13, 1964 to Robert J. Sr. and Emmie A. Foxhoven in Des Moines, Iowa. He graduated from North High School in 1982. He lived his last 13 years with his life partner, Lisa Sheets.
Bruce was a free spirit and loved to live life the way that everyone should… To the fullest. He was a do-it-yourselfer and loved to cook. He loved movies, dogs, turkey legs and pro wrestling. He had many friends throughout his life who will miss him dearly.
Bruce is survived by his father, Robert Foxhoven, Sr.; daughters, Amanda (Andrew) and Kindra (Alex); grandchildren, Neil, Noah, Joey and Sawer; brothers, Daryle (Penny), David, Robert (Janice) and Brad (Colleen); sister, Julie (Brian); and many other nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Emmie A. Foxhoven; sisters, Diana and Lori; and brother, Dennis.
Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to cancer research.

Bruce was always very nice. We went to school together and both graduated from North, 1982. I'm being flooded with memories from so long ago right now!! My deepest sympathy to Bruce's family! May God bring you peace and comfort during this very hard time!!

As a childhood friend of Bruce's and a very close friend at North High, I sincerely offer my deepest sympathy to Bruce's family. I have not seen him in years but he was always in my heart.
May Christ's light give you the grace to find strength, peace, and hope during this difficult time and journey.
