Service Details

Danny Ross Barr was born December 27, 1955. He graduated from Southeast Polk High School in 1975.

Later in life he put himself through DMACC receiving an associate’s degree in business administration.

Danny, was a sweet unassuming person and lived his life quietly without any drama or fanfare. He enjoyed bowling and won awards for his bowling skills. He was a film buff and had a huge collection of DVD’s and VHS tapes, especially thrillers and horror films. He loved anything directed by John Carpenter, Alfred Hitchcock or any film written by Stephen King. He also had a booth at a local antique mall where he bought and sold various items. One of his hobbies was landscaping. He loved planting flowers especially red and white roses. His ambition was to start a landscaping business before he fell ill with diabetes.

He always had a smile on his face and a ready laugh. He didn’t ask for anything from anyone. He was a good brother and a good uncle to his nieces and nephews and they loved Uncle Danny. We all loved him. We all will miss him dearly.

Danny is survived by his siblings, Jim (Amber) Barr, Jerry (Barbara) Barr, Alan (Kim) Barr, Larry Barr, Connie Barr-Dilliner, and Mary Corell; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mary Barr.

Celebration of Life will be held from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Doanes Park Youth Center, 5050 Doanes Park Road, Pleasant Hill, Iowa.
