Robert Romine

Robert Wesley Romine, age 43, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019. He was born March 1, 1976 in Des Moines, Iowa to Robert and Christine (Sickels) Romine. He was a resident of the Des Moines area his entire life. Rob was an Ambassador for CSL Behring Biopharmaceutical Company. He helped bring awareness and funding for CIDP, Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy, which Rob so courageously battled. He enjoyed traveling for CSL, especially taking his first plane trip.

Rob loved working on cars and was a power seller on EBay. He knew how to make quick money! He was very ambitious and a go-getter. Rob had a heart of gold and was willing to help anyone at the drop of a hat. He had a quiet smartness about him and was soft spoken and compassionate. He was a great cook and enjoyed creating his own recipes. Above all else, Rob treasured time spent with his family. His first trip to the ocean at Pensacola with his wife, Sherry, and step-daughter, Summer, was such a memorable experience that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Rob is survived by his loving wife Sherry Romine, step-daughter Summer Williams, granddaughter Paisley, parents Christine and Robert Romine, grandmother Marida Sickels, Sherry’s family: father Gary Williams, aunt Sherry Williams and uncle Rick Williams, his kitties Zoey and Willow, his fur brothers Jake and Elwood, and other loving relatives and special friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bill and Carol Farris and Orville Sickels, aunt Elaine Sickels, and his grandchildren Bentley and River.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by funeral service at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made directly to the family to assist with expenses.
