Sherry Rae Newton, 72, of Des Moines, passed away at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines on July 14, 2019. Sherry was a retired customer service worker for several companies, including Younkers, Amerus, and Aviva Co. Earlier in life she worked at Look Magazine.
Sherry is survived by her son, Raymond Savage, and daughter, Michelle Sunins, both of Des Moines. She is also survived by her sister, Sue McKinsey; brothers Greg Peterson and Gary Peterson; sister-in-law, Mara Swanson of West Des Moines; as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim Newton; and her sister, Kay Clifford.
