Service Details
Fred Smoger, 88, died Tuesday March 3, 2009 at Iowa Health Hospice Taylor House.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2009 at 11AM at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway, West Des Moines IA. Visitation will occur from 5-8 PM, Friday evening at the funeral home.
Fred was born September 27, 1920 in Laurel, IA to Henry and Clara Smoger. He served in the army during WWII.
He is survived by his loving wife, Janet of 38 years; his children, Debra Smoger, Andrew (Donna) Johnston, Rodney Smoger, Marge (Bruce) Mehner; four grandchildren; his other loving family and friends that will forever know him as “Papa Freddy”.
Memorial contributions may be directed toward the American Cancer Society or Iowa Health Hospice
