Robert L. Dempsey

Robert L. (Bob) Dempsey, 87, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Taylor Hospice House. Funeral services will be held 11am Wednesday, March 4th at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service. A committal service will be 3:30pm Wednesday at Lynwood Cemetery in Clarksville, IA.
Bob was born February 12, 1922 in Waverly, IA to William and Louise Dempsey. He married Gladys Schilling on December 7, 1941 and to this union a son, Ron was born. Bob served in the Army during WWII in the South Pacific and retired from Republic Electric Co. in Davenport after 24 years as a salesman.
Bob is survived by his son Ron (Fran); one granddaughter and a grandson; 4 great grandchildren. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Gladys, an infant son Jimmy.
