Daniel Ahern

10-30-35 to 02-19-09. In happy and loving memory of our father, husband and mentor.
Daniel was born in Buffalo, WY to Daniel and Mildred Ahern. He was manager of A.G. Edwards in Omaha, NE, he owned and operated a resort in the Ozarks and was a chemistry teacher in El Paso, TX for 10 years. He spent the last years of his life teaching science in the Carlisle School District. Daniel was an avid Nebraska Cornhusker football fan and golfer.
Daniel is survived by his devoted wife, Shirley of Prairie City, IA; son, Steven Ahern of Lincoln, NE; daughter, Mary Ahern of Omaha, NE; three loving children by marriage, Rob (Kristina) Dowell of Des Moines, Rick (Julie) Dowell of Ankeny and Lori (Daniel) Bonnell of SanMarcos, TX; brothers, Bill (Ginger) Ahern of Emmetsburg, IA and Tom Ahern of Rawlins, WY; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Keith Ahern.
