Mandi
you will always have a piece of my heart
i am sorry that you couldn't see your own beauty
i saw the light that radiated from your tortured soul
i would like to believe that you have found a better place
where your spirit is joyous in glorious freedom and your
infectious giggle tickles the wings of purple butterflies
i wish peace and comfort to your loving sister Joleen

Mandi was a beautiful person. She was always positive and an upbeat person. Although I didn't have the opportunity to get to know her very well, my thoughts go out to the family in friends in her life. She will be sorely missed.

To Joellen,
I saw you care and love for Mandi through tough and frustrating times. I also saw you as "keeper of the faith" because you kept believing that she would find her way through this. Some are too wounded, such as Mandi, but if you can keep hold of her smile, her gentle manner and her laughter....if you can find some truth in her life to hold on to as you journey through your grief, then her life has not been in vain. I sent my thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

My life was greatly enriched by having known Mandi over the past 7 years. Mandi displayed a brand of loyalty and dedication that was rare for a woman of her tender age. Mandi and I shared a special love for cats, kittens, other baby animals, and beautiful flowers. Till we meet again my dear sweet lady, may all your days be filled with beautiful fragrant roses, peace, and the gentle animals you so deeply love.

Keep this in mind:)
Sometimes people come into your life
and you know right away that they were
meant to be there... to serve some
sort of purpose, teach you a lesson or
help figure out who you are or who you
want to become. You never know who
these people may be but when you look
eyes with them, you know that every
moment that you are with them, they
will affect your life in some profound
way. And sometimes things happen to
you at the time that may seem horrible,
painful and unfair, but in reflection
you realize that without overcoming
those obstacles you would have never
realized your potential, strength,
will power or heart.
Everything happens for a reason!
Nothing happens by chance or by means
of good luck. Illness, injury, love,
lost moments of true greatness and sheer
stupidity all occur to test the limits
of your soul. Without these small
tests, life would be like a smoothly
paved, straight, flat road to nowhere,
safe and comfortable but dull and
utterly pointless.
The people you meet affect your life.
The successes and downfalls that you
experience can create who you are, and
the bad experiences can be learned
from.... In fact, they are probably the
most poignant and important ones.
If someone hurts you, betrays you or
breaks your heart, forgive them because
they have helped you learn about trust
and the importance of being cautious
to whom you open your heart. If someone
loves you, love them back unconditionally
not only because they love you, but
also because they are teaching you to
love and open your heart and eyes to
little things.
MAKE EVERYDAY COUNT! Appreciate every moment and take from it everything
that you possibly can, for you may never
be able to experience it again. Talk to people who you have never talked to before, and actually listen. Let yourself fall in love, even if it doesn't seem right because you are too young or too far, just follow your heart. Surround yourself with those who make you smile, laugh, and make you happy.
Break free and set your sights high. Hold your head up because you have every right to. Tell yourself you are a great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in yourself, no one else will believe in you. Create your own life then LET GO and LIVE IT!

I knew Mandi years ago when we were in school together. One thing I can tell you is that I NEVER knew of anyone who ever had anything negative to say about her. And on the same token, I NEVER knew Mandi to ever say anything bad about anyone else. I knew her to be sweet and kind and my one hope is that she knew how many people she may have inadvertently positively impacted in her short life. My heart is sad today- and I hope she is at peace. I can tell you that news like this makes you want to reach out and hug the other person in the room with you, no matter how long it's been- or who it may be.
Lord, please bless Mandi's family is this extraordinarily difficult time. And please let them know that her life was not in vain. She loved. And IS loved.

Mandi's bright smile, contagious laugh, and wonderful sense of humor were some of Mandi's beautiful gifts that she shared with others. I will miss her. I'm glad I knew Mandi, and I pray that she is at peace. Peace and prayers to you.

Although I didn't have the opportunity to get to know Mandi very well, in the time I did know her, I saw a beautiful honesty I know others appreciated in her. Furthermore, I saw a beautiful person. My thoughts and prayers go out to all who were blessed to have Mandi in their lives.

Going to school and growing up with her was a great time. She knew how to get you to laugh when you were down and how to get a smile on your face when you needed one. Mandi was a great person to know and share my life with and even though we lost touch a few years back we got back into the same old talks when I moved back to Iowa. She will be very missed and I hope that she is at peace. Everyone that knew her in high school knows that she was honest and there when we needed someone to talk to and she always new how to make you feel better. I know that she was really down and that we all tried to help her and every time I talked to her I thought in my head that I wish I could have done more, let her smile and laughter move us everytime we think of her and that she was and always will be a great person. Let her parents and sibblings know that we are there for them and that they can call on me if I can be of any help to them. I LOVE YOU MANDI AND I WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU AND THAT YOU WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART AND I HOPE THAT YOU WILL WATCH OVER ALL OF US FROM WERE YOU ARE. PEACE MANDI.
Just remember the good times and put the bad times to rest and when you get down and don't know what to do always think of her smile and her laughter and know that she will always be with us no matter what we go there.
YOUR BEST FRIEND IN THE WORLD FOR EVER AND EVER.
Jenny and daughter Madison.
