Rocio Mora, 29, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at 1:40 a.m. at Iowa Methodist Hospital. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 5:30 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2009 at Our Lady of the Americas, Visitation Site, 1271 East 9th Street. Burial will occur in Guachinango, Jalisco, Mexico. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street.
Rocio was born July 25, 1979 in Concord, California. She graduated from Hoover High School in 1998. Rocio owned and operated La Tapatia 3.
Rocio is survived by her daughter Azucena; mother, Maria Mora; father, Manuel Mora; brothers, Jaime and Hugo Mora; grandfather, Pablo Cruz and many other family members and beloved friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
Rocio Mora, 29, fallecio el martes 17 de febrero 2009 a 1:40 a.m. en el hospital de Methodist de leucemia. Los servicios del funeral será 5:30 p.m. jueves, 19 de febrero 2009 a la Our Lady of the Americas, Visitation Site. Entierro sera en Guachinango, Jalisco, Mexico.

mi mas sentidos pesames para la familia mora y cruz ya que no tengo mucho contacto con la familia puesto que vivo en california, pero me entere de lo que les paso y creanme que se lo que se siente perder a un ser querido ya que yo soy la hija de de javier cruz arreola. quiza no me conoscan pero yo si conosco a algunos de mis familiares y les hablo a algunos primos lo siento de verdad y les deseo lo mejor a sus familiares y mucha resignacion asi como yo la he tenido con la muerte de mi padre javier cruz y de mi hermano gilberto cruz ron.....edgar cruz y cibrian cruz primos desde california estamos con ustedes y ojala que se acuerde de mi olivio cruz. que dios los bendiga a todos..

sabemos que no hay forma de remediar un dolor tan grande como la perdida de un ser tan querido,lo unico que nos queda es desear que a sus corazones pronto llegue el alivio el entendimeiento y la aceptacion.que en sus corazones y pensamiento siempre este alla presente con amor y salud. sinceramente y con mucho respeto de nustra familia paraustedes.

Para la familia mora mis mejores deseos en estos momentos tan dificiles.. Mi sincero pesame. She has gone to a better place, Y no queda mas que recordar a Rocio como la persona que era.. She was such a nice outgoing person.. Y como dije antes shes gone to a better place.

I have no words to ease your pain. I will truly miss her! I can only share great memories that I had with her.
When you guys had the old store on E. 17th, I would come in and buy groceries. Even though I am Mexican, I did not know how to speak Spanish. She interpreted and helped me shop. She would always have a big smile. When she opened Roccos Video, she helped me pick out movies, and CD's. She stuck to Vicente Fernandez movies, because she knew that was the only Mexican artist I was familiar with.
Her dad Manuel nicknamed me Morena. She would smile and laugh because; she knew I was going to ask her what that meant.
She was so humble, and appreciative. I had taken her to a movie when she was a teenager and years later, she reminded me of that and how much fun she had. I was shocked and deeply touched that she would remember such a small thing.
My family and I want you to know how deeply sorry we are for your great loss. We will never forget her.

Querida Familia Mora:
Por medio de estas líneas queremos enviarles nuestras condolencias. Sabemos que en estos momentos de dolor no hay palabras que puedan consolarlos. Pero si ofrecen su dolor, su sufrimiento y sus pensamientos al Padre, sólo Él les puede enviar el consuelo, la paz y esperanza que están necesitando para afrontar su nueva vida sin la presencia física de Rocio. Estamos seguros que Rocio se fue muy orgullosa de su familia, de sus cuidados, de su entrega, su amor, ternura, dedicación. Desde el cielo ella estará agradeciendo todo eso y ella los cuidará, protegerá y velará por su bienestar.
Ahora van a tener que sacrificar el no tenerla físicamente con ustedes a cambio de que ella está en muchas mejores condiciones y sin tener que cargar ya con el sufrimiento que le trajo la enfermedad. Tenemos confianza en que Dios Nuestro Señor encontrará la forma de compensar su dolor y de hacerlos aceptar sus designios.
El amor y cariño que Rocio les dio los hará tenerla siempre presentes en sus vidas. La alegría que ella les trajo los ayudará a aceptar su ausencia a la vez que los hará sonreír cada vez que la recuerden.
Que Dios Nuestro Señor los llene de bendiciones y de fuerza ahora en estos momentos difíciles y que la Virgen María los acoja en su regazo. Rocio estará velando por ustedes y seguirá trayendo alegría siempre.

Querida familia Mora,
I dont know how to start, as it is very difficult to believe that Rocio has passed.
I had been friends with Rocio since Weeks middle school all throughout high school. She was actually my first trustworthy friend. We shared the same bus stop for several years. We became friends from the start, with Rocio being such a kind and trusting friend I had no problem talking to her about anything. She will definitely be missed by everybody that surrounded her, as well as, having the opportunity to meet her.
I remember how excited she became when she was in the process of opening her video store, and how she used to greet my parents, Rosa Sanchez and Jorge Barbosa whenever we would walk in. She was always willing to help, for example; she would always offer my mom, Rosa Sanchez, rides from Iowa State Bank to our house.
My family will always have Rocio in our hearts and prayers; furthermore, share great memories of Rocio - quien fue mi primera amiga.
Con todo cariño van nuestros mas sinceros pesames.
