Christopher "Bubba" Huntsman

Chris “Bubba” Huntsman, 58, passed away on July 9, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was born in Corning, Iowa, on December 16, 1960, to Richard and Norma Huntsman.
Bubba worked as a foreman and supervisor for The Concrete Company in Des Moines. He was very proud of his work. To him this wasn’t only a job, but a family. He took great joy in mentoring each and every one of his co-workers. Bubba had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone. One of his greatest accomplishments was his 16 years of sobriety. His daughter, Brooke was his pride and joy. Bubba also enjoyed cooking for his family and friends.
Chris is survived by his daughter, Brooke Huntsman; siblings, Pam Sandy (Lee), Jackie Greene (Mark), Jeff Huntsman (Lyndsay), Tim Huntsman (Kathy) and Jill Huntsman; special niece and Goddaughter, Chrissy Raskie Jessen, along with many other nieces and nephews; his cats, Baby and Itty Bit. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Mary Huntsman Jessen; and cat, Birdie.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. A time of sharing will begin at 5:00 p.m.
The family of Chris "Bubba" would like to give a special thanks to Mike and Chad Conglin and their families, along with the whole crew of The Concrete Co. May you all know he loved and cherished each and everyone of you!!
We will always be so very grateful for your thoughtfulness and kindness!!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Huntsman family at this time. Chris will always be remembered for his kindness and big heart. I know there is a huge reunion going on in Heaven!

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your brother Chris. Chris, was friends with my brother's Harry, Russ and Verne Larson and I remember them talking about Chris from time to time and about the good times that they had. Please know the family is in my thoughts and prayers..Chris, Harry and Russ are together again in heaven and having goods times again..

Chris always reminded me of a big ole Teddy Bear. Kind hearted & friendly as can be. So sorry for your loss. Boy are him & Mary going to have a fun time in heaven, together. Hugs to the Huntsman family.

Brooke and family so sorry. Bubba had a heart of gold and was very proud of his sobriety. More important he was very proud of you Brooke and his family. We were so lucky to have known him and worked with him in the past.He will always be in our memories. Our prayers are with you.
