I met Ginger when she came to church with Joann Welton sometime during the 1960's. Ginger and I lived at Drummer's Dorm in Marshalltown while both of us were attending MCC. We also were roommates with Margaret Geer at an apartment on 105 Byron St. We three graduated in 1971. Ginger was a close friend. I last saw her when I took her a poinsettia in December, 2018. I received a letter from her near the end of June. I went to visit her last Sunday, 08-04-19, not knowing of her death. Thanks for posting your message. She was gifted in math and writing. I didn't know about her artistic abilities. I also knew your Mother, Pat, and your grandparents. I will miss her. I am glad that I now know the details of her death.

Aunt Ginger, my mother's sister, passed away on 7/10 following complications following a seizure. Ginger was brilliant and talented in math, art and writing. She was an advocate for the mentally ill, giving speeches to help others understand the impact of living with mental illness. Ginger used her math abilities to volunteer hours as a tutor. She was a thinker and a dreamer. She will be missed.
